Climate Change Denier—The Lessons of Torquemada Forgotten—You Will Believe

ZInquisition

Do not think about, write about or deal with  human behavior without determining the effects of incentives. It’s not their money, of course they’ll waste it.

Wherein we see that, once the state has decided something is real, no disbelief is allowed.   I thought that the early rumblings of this were the result of overblown rhetoric. The rhetoric, apparently, was blown just right. They’re after disbelievers.

Global Warming Skeptic Receives Subpoena, Tells Attorney General ‘F*ck Off, Fascist’
Greg Campbell

As Americans, we are all bound by a sacred agreement. We will abide by the rules of the United States and in exchange, the United States government (and the governments therein) will abide by the rules as well.

We are not permitted to disregard laws that we do not like. We are, however, obliged to disobey immoral laws and laws that conflict with other, longer-held laws.

It’s a complex situation, admittedly. However, what the Civil Rights Movement taught us is that when the government becomes abusive and when persecution is the means by which the government ensures compliance with immoral statutes, our duties must correspond to our consciences.

As Martin Luther King once stated, “One has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.”

Currently, 16 state attorney generals– all Democrats- are conducting an inquisition to root-out “climate change deniers”- a term coined by the left to denote those who have not bowed to the unethical and tainted “science” that has prompted environmental hysteria.

    All Democrats–oppression by the majority–always a treat.

The attorney generals are investigating whether or not they can proceed with charges against oil companies for allegedly spreading “false” information regarding the alleged crisis that is “climate change,” a catch-all term favored by liberals to encompass any change (or no change) in weather.

To further this investigation, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey subpoenaed Alex Epstein, the founder of the Center for Industrial Progress (CIP), a for-profit think tank. Healey’s subpoena was part of the bigger investigation into ExxonMobil. Healey was demanding 40 years’ worth of documents pertaining to communications between the oil giant and various think tanks like Epstein’s.

Epstein, the author of “The Moral Case for Fossil Fuels,” was not pleased with receiving a subpoena to be part of the environmental inquisition. So, the scholar offered a blunt and simple response to the attorney general: “Fuck off, fascist.”

That was it. That was the entirety of his response.

The orchestrated effort to politically pulverize the oil companies is a shocking abuse of power. While we should be free to agree to disagree on issues, liberal zealots have irreparably tainted the science behind global warming to the point where the real facts surrounding the possible crisis is unknowable and engulfed in political motivations. The “climate change” debate has boiled-down to hysterics and rigged science refuting other rigged science.

Still, despite the nature of this quagmire, the left has positioned the issue in terms of absolutes and is undergoing a vendetta to literally prosecute those who dare disagree with their radical agenda.

Though the term “fascist” is meant in literal political science terms to denote a far-right totalitarian government, the term has come to mean on a more-broad level those who use sheer force to demand compliance and agreement with their agenda.

In this view, Epstein’s response is 100% spot-on.

This is why the Founding Fathers made the U.S. government a Constitutional Republic so individuals were immune to the overreach of government zealots.
