Hysterically Fearing “Greenhouse” Gases

Do not think about, write about or deal with  human behavior without determining the effects of incentives.

Wherein we see that, after increasing electricity rates, liberals are not content, but are pushing cap and trade. They don’t seem to know that Global Warming is a myth. Just for fun, it would be of as much value to sell the rights to naming leprechauns. Green ones cost three times as much as the yellow.  We made up this, so we must  continue to believe in it.

Ontario eyes
cap-and-trade system but PCs say it’s carbon tax

TORONTO – Ontario has not ruled out joining the Quebec-California cap-and-trade system to limit the emission of greenhouse gases.

“All parties agree that greenhouse gases should be reduced.”   For the fortieth or fiftieth time. If there is no Global Warming there can be no greenhouse gases.

“We are just beginning our conversations and our discussions, a partnership with industries,” Environment and Climate Change Minister Glen Murray said Thursday.

“What we’re most concerned about … if we get to 4C mean temperature change in the next several decades, that’s a legacy that’s pretty unthinkable for our children.”

“If we get”–If we get poorer, we’ll be less rich.

Quebec has linked with California in a cap-and-trade system that sets a limit on carbon emissions, allowing companies that pollute less to sell their emission room to others.

Overall, the goal is to make polluting more expensive and encourage the use of greener technologies, supporters say.

Critics of the carbon offset programs say they drive up costs for businesses and fail to achieve the expected goals.

Interim PC Leader Jim Wilson said the Liberals can call it anything they like — it’s a carbon tax on industries that use a significant amount of electricity or petroleum and on the people who buy their products.

Wilson asked Premier Kathleen Wynne three times Thursday if she would bring in a carbon tax in Ontario.

“I didn’t hear a ‘no’ at all and it was really disturbing … clearly they’re looking for any type of new taxation to hit Ontario families,” Wilson said. “It’s not acceptable to us. A tax is a tax is a tax.”

Wynne said Liberals believe that climate change is a reality, suggesting the PCs do not.

“Here’s what we’re joining with Quebec on, and that is an acknowledgment that reducing greenhouse gas emissions and dealing with the effects of climate change is a challenge for every single one of us, and (Wilson) is the first to jump up if there is a tornado or if there is a flood or if there is a demonstration or an indication of the impact of climate change,” Wynne said.

In answer to the question, “How stupid can politicians be?”, the answer is, apparently, there is no limit.
